This place is an amazing community resource! An open, welcoming, place to people of all ages and abilities. A great place to get started and a bottomless source of inspiration and challenge. All the instructors are great musicians who bring their love of Jazz to their teaching and their love of teaching to you! Can't say enough good things about this place.

Seattle is very lucky to have Jazz Night School. And I feel very lucky to have been a part of it for the last several years. JNS offers the opportunity to play music with other adults of similar ability and with an impressive roster of excellent teachers. It has created a whole community for music making that provides players with so much more than lessons with a single teacher ever could. And you don't have to be hardcore jazz player to enjoy and benefit from JNS. I was a mostly self-taught folk/blues/rock guitar player when I started. But I wanted something that would push me a little and expand my understanding of music. JNS has definitely done that, and I owe it pretty much all the progress I've made as a musician since I started there.

A wonderful resource for Seattle musicians. Classes available for any skill level and the staff is open to pretty much any jazz genre depending on where the students want to go. My first class started with traditional swing but morphed into more of a bop/R&B mix. The second class wound up playing fusion.
