Brought my son’s bike to get the chain fixed and tires pumped up. The guy working did it for free while we waited and didn’t asked for any money. I’ll definitely be back to buy bikes in the future.

I love that I can buy gear, get it extremely dirty, decide I don't want it anymore, and then return it! Not that I do this often, but it is having that piece of mind that makes paying the premium price @ The Bicycle Place worth it. Also, if you are a member, you don't even need a receipt to return or exchange your used gear!
My wife's bike needed new back brake pads and she wanted a tune-up since the back rim had a bit of a wobble and it'd been a two seasons since its last tune-up. I was told they were backed up a bit and that it would be ready in 1.5-2 weeks. Sure, no problem. After two weeks I called and they said it was on the schedule for that week. OK, no problem. Called the next week and got the same response. I asked if they could guaranty that it'd be done by the end of the week. If not, I would rather come and pick it up and take it somewhere else. Well, it was 'finished' the next day. I picked it up and the back brakes hadn't been replaced and the back rim still has the wobble. It really makes me wonder if they just oiled the chain, took our money, and sent us on our way. That's certainly how it feels. This was really disappointing because we were looking for a new local bike shop since the Bethesda/Rockville City Bikes shop closed. I guess we'll keep looking for another shop or make the trip into Adams Morgan in the future.
We had a hybrid bicycle to donate to a local program that matches donors to low income persons seeking bicycles for commuting during COVID-19. The Bicycle Place tuned up the bike in less than an hour for a reasonable price. At the moment, customers wait outside the shop and the staff come out to receive and return the bikes. Staff also bring out products for customers to see and purchase. Everything was done with social distancing and face masks. I've been to other bike shops in the region that are not being as careful to keep customers and staff healthy.
