Clean property, pretty water, strict Covid rules- they definitely take this seriously and want people to be safe. , Beach open 10-5- the rules for beach were in rule sheet but not hours. Bathhouse bathroom open 10-5 and right by beach area- near check in office. No floats, noodles, coolers, drinks allowed (and you will be told you may not take any of these items) no food or availability to purchase drinks or food. You also have to make an reservation or appointment to be placed into individual, caution taped off areas on beach. Music is played over the beach at a definitely audible level - so if you don’t like listening to someone else’s music bring headphones or earplugs. Bathroom was supposed to be open 10am- 5pm (time listed on rule sheet) but not opened on our departure date at 10:37am. Shower in your rig before you break it all down and be aware that they are not allowing rigs that are not self contained. Make sure to check your spot out. Ours had some kind of animal poop surrounding it-difficult to not step in it and after it rained it became a slime hazard. This was the very back area by a shed, next to building supplies. We likely had this spot because they allowed us to bring old rig to unload to new one for the day - thankfully. Playground was open and they sanitize it often.

A very beautiful lake and beach to boot. I have coming here for a year now, mostly for scuba diving. The deepest I have dove here is about 75 feet. If you wanna go swimming here, its a good idea to pick up a bathymetric map (depth chart) from the lake office for free.
I called to gather information about a possible trip to this lake with my family. I had read some of the Google reviews ahead of time; so I was aware of the egative feedback\ regarding the inhospitable staff. However, I was still rather unprepared for the short, terse attitude I received during my brief \fact finding\ phone call. I felt as if I was trying to reserve a table at a Hollywood Michelin Three Star restaurant rather than planning a trip to a northern Illinois camp ground. Based on my experience over the phone, I have my doubts as to the level of service my family would receive if we decided to stay here. The reviews about cost do not concern me; as I am willing to pay for something nice. It simply seems like a unfriendly place to spend time at. I want to get away from drama not involve myself in more of it. A lesson in customer service might be well warranted here.
This used to be an awesome beach...been coming here for over 20 yrs....however they have become so expensive....for a family fun day u going to spend at least 60 jus to get in...15 per person! Children under 5 free! It's too bad they don't go back down in price!!!! Used to b an awesome place for family fun
What a fun place to just swim all day with no crowd. It was really easy to keep an eye on the kids too.
