The facility itself was adequate, their were burrs and we came in after the big Texas snowstorm, so to no fault of their own we had no power, or water for a couple days. That also meant no gate pass period ! the first couple days, then electricity came back on so we stopped at office and a guy met us at door and acted as we were not allowed in office at all, we told him we needed parking pass so he wrote one out and gave to us an shewed us along. We were able to get in gate the next day and half...then the Friday came and that pass wasn’t good enough and the guard didn’t want to let us in, I tried to call office before 5pm to see what can be done, no answer. The guard said they were open til 6, apparently they cut out early on Friday and no way to know when they would be back. Besides this, those working in the office were not helpful at all !!! , if you wanted anything they would only let one person in at time and they made you wait outside, then when you got inside it didn’t get better . So I’m going to have to buy a daily pass for 12 for everyday until we can get in office, even though we paid 100’s to stay here. the neighbor’s were very nice and we could have had a good time, if it wasn’t for all the hassles.

Camping sites are 1212 lots right next to each other, try and skip a few in-between for better privacy and distance. There is alot of thorn stickers, shoes are a must. Would recommend taking a tarp for the ground . Showers , restrooms were clean and passes for the actual park ARE INCLUDED. Tent sites are next to Dirty Al's in the rear. Check in building is before the ICE machine .

Site #S24 is probably the reason I’m giving this RV park experience a 5 star review. This is a huge rv park where most sites are crammed in way too close together. I usually avoid this sort of place. But in the end we looked over the map and chose site S24. It’s private, you can see the water, and are surrounded by cactus and agave instead of other RVs. The park was quiet and clean. It’s off season and January and still 72 degrees. We were pleasantly surprised at how much we enjoyed our time at this big park.

Nicest employees and a great spot to camp. Close to the beach and restaurants. Sites are a good size. This is an older park so if you're looking for large concrete pads you might be disappointed but there are level, concrete runners to park on on every site. Most also have a concrete patio. Cable is a joke would be my biggest complaint! Neighbor gets about 30 channels and I get none ! There is a fantastic boardwalk along the shore and amphitheater and pavillions - all new. Also there is a boat ramp with ample truck and trailer parking.

A great way to see the Gulf and the historic Brazos Santiago Pass. Activities: Whether you like photography, swimming, boating, fishing, parasailing or a cook out- this park will not disappoint you. The park has recently been renovated with beautiful beach accesses ( wheel-chair ramps) and a perfect place to watch the Space X rocket launch site. Definitely, this location will not disappoint you. There is an entrance fee (12 per car)but if you want to go several times a year pass (50-100) is ideal! (Veterans are half off). This is the only place to see the ships going through the jetties to the port of Brownsville and theShrimp Basin Note: Boca Chica Beach previously the only other place to access the Jetties. However, as of January 2021 because of continuing Space X activities, Highway 4 is closed to Boca Chica beach- several days a month and sometimes all day. Closures are announced at the Cameron County Website.
