Room was clean area was quiet
This place looks as gross on the inside as it does on the outside. I understand that the name should explain itself, but I did expect some quality. The room is moist and filthy. There was unknown "stuff" on the walls and in still not sure if the toliet even flushed while I was there (for my 3 hour "trucker" power nap) I don't even know if I closed my eyes. The hooligans living outside were haunting me.

I have read the reviews. I disagree with the bad ones. The owners are very nice and helpful. The room I am in is super clean. No roaches or any other bugs. It is an old hotel like every one in Starke. There are no "low life's" here. I believe they do not tolerate drug dealers, prostitutes or any other bad behavior. My impression is that they would rather have empty rooms than bad people. That is very comendacomm. I read that someone said the room smelled bad. My doesn't and when I turned on a/c there wasn't an odor. This is a small town and the hotels are old. I grew up in Charleston, SC and lived in Cocoa, FL for ten years. Tourist towns have newer accommodations. 301 has a lot of travelers. If they need to rest I believe this is the best place in this area. If you want new over priced accommodations, then you need to keep driving. If you want a clean room that is family operated then this is the place to stay. I'm picky and I have stayed in five star resorts. Be realistic, this is a rural area. This is a safe, clean place to stay and the owners will help you immediately should you need anything.

I was going to pay for a room for someone I didnt know here because they were intoxicated and could not drive home but as soon as the owners found out they were drunk they told us no, and went to the door to make us leave. Why would they not care someone could not drive home intoxicated is beyond me....this person was already falling asleep and that's all they needed, was sleep... like I said I didnt know them, just trying to be a nice person and get them a room somewhere so they weren't on the road.. I agree they shouldn't have drank so much, but for the owner of this hotel not to care if they were driving and could have killed someone is just insane! Never will I recommend this hotel to anyone! Ever!
