Nothing but awesome comments about the YMCA, esp during the ew normal\. I have had no problems making my reservation in advance. I am there as soon as it opens. The facility is very clean and all of the equipment is socially distanced spread out. Everyone has their masks on and the members are given a cleaning bottle to spray down after their workout. I feel very comfortable and safe there. The staff at the Y has done an outstanding job

My family and I went to the pool part of the y today around 7:15pm today, there was a water aerobics class going on and they turned the music way up and we were all enjoying it and a couple people started singing here and there, some louder than others. Well some thin, dark haired, white lady came out of the office near the pool and starts screaming at one person of color to be quite and comes out several times after he stopped singing to stare at him and then she screams at him to stop swearing (he hadn't) and keeps harassing him. She made us all feel uncomfortable and pretty unsafe with her erratic, unprofessional behavior. Idk if we'll keep our 7 person membership after her racist? outburst.

The facility itself isn't bad staff are friendly. The only issue I have is with the cost of the summer camp fee. It's 250-275 per week and per child. They treat low income families like second class citizens. For low income families you can apply for assistance however it can take up to 5 weeks and it's only good for 2 weeks. By the time you get approved for for their so called campership (assistance) summers over or all of the slots are full and they can't take in anymore kids. Low income families deserve better. No I'm not on government assistance but I don't make enough to pay 500 a week on camp for my two kids. A mother of two I can't afford to pay over 500 per week on camp for my kids. I was told just because you fill out an application doesn't mean you get approved. So much for being family friendly. They should be ashamed of themselves.
