About 3 weeks I saw this small restaurant in the "Old Downtown" district of Moore and thought to myself that I should give them a try.. So the following week I stopped in on Thursday (I believe) to have a late lunch. I came through the door and was introduced to a very informative menu board of today's specials. I was in the mood to try an Onion cheese burger (with very dark onions and grilled jalapenos), with extra crispy fries & gyro meat without the pita bread or sauce. The response from the waitress at the counter was..."no problem, we'll have it right up". WOW, with my extra requests that I asked for I expected some push back but instead it was met with "No Problem". I grabbed my drink and took a seat (seating was limited - they seem to do a lot of to-go business). I forgot to mention that I came in after 1:00 so they were starting to slow up a little. My dinner was brought to me by the Owner, Kevin. He and the others wanted to make sure that everything was great...and it was excellent. Then Kevin and I were discussing the food business and we got on the subject of Smoked Meats...He does Smoked Brisket and Pork Ribs on I believe Thursday, Friday and Saturday. He then went to check on another guest and I heard him say that they have a live band on Saturday (not sure if that's every Saturday or not)...now Kevin is Showing this couple and I the patio out back where the band sets up. I am assuming that they serve Food and beer, sodas and such out there. We talked for awhile longer and Kevin served me a taste of the Smoked Brisket and Ribs...I enjoy smoked meats and they do a super job on both, great flavor and not overpowering with too much smoke (and seasoning). I came back last week with my one of my daughters for lunch...it was very good and now it's Thursday and I am going in for the Hot Dogs today (getting it to-go for one of my brothers) and not sure what else... here shortly I will know Thumbs up on, The Taverna!

This restaurant is the bomb these folks are very friendly and they have the best gyros I've had since I left Chicago. Very friendly owners or find country Folk, I was having a problem with my leg and the owner saw me walking down the block and he picked me up and gave me a ride we're always going okay went out of his way to be friendly and from time to time they have a band in the back and a cookout so visit this place it's incredible the food is great and they have really good hummus as well
I eat all over the city and this little gem remains one of my favorite places. The gyros, hummus, chicken; they are all consistently wonderful. Recently they added BBQ on the weekend and it too is just plain good.
This is the best gyro place around. The owners are wonderful and very friendly. They know how the keep loyal customers with the authenticity and quality of thier entire menu. I love this place.
I have worked in Greek restaurants for over 8 years now and this is the best place I have ever worked. I love this place and I love the atmosphere. The Mendros family has established a great little place right in the heart of Moore. Come give it a try and find out why I love it so much.

We go about once a week for lunch. It is always hot, fresh and most of all delicious. The family who owns it is a sweet as can be and provides great service and friendly faces.
He has the best gyros! Onion burgers are great! Great little restaurant everyone should try it out
