A great place to stay in Tulelake if you want to be treated like family! Rustic hunting lodge accommodations, pet friendly. The new caretakers are in the process of improvements that are in the historic style while maintaining the family atmosphere the last caretakers spent decades building. I loved coming here before and now I can say, I still do.

The staff was wonderful and understanding. The accommodations we're excellent, the complimentary breakfast was top of the line. A great place to stay!

I’d give it 2 stars, but the proprietors (owners?) and location were great. Rooms were clean, I like the location, but the actual rooms were tired, and would need lots of TLC to make it actually charming. But location and staff make it a place I’d go back to.

I stayed here in September during all the fires. The property had recently been taken over by new owners, and they were working on renovating the main house. I felt welcomed right away. I was also the only guest there because...fire. I was given the grand tour of the main house and the motel section next door, and I was told to feel free to hang out in the main house as much as I liked. The guest lounge was HUGE with lots of couches, tables and chairs, and large card table, and a billiards table. It felt very rustic and homey, aside from the large flatscreen television of course. The owners invited me to join them for dinner; simple home-cooked deliciousness! Yum! My room, motel room #1, was large, clean, and a little dated, which was part of its charm (I was excited to stay in the historic lodge for its historicalness, after all!). The bathroom was larger than expected, which was a nice surprise. The bed was comfortable, and even though there was no AC it was quite comfortable after the sun went down. Complimentary breakfast was good, mostly continental breakfast but the owner offered to make me eggs or whatever I'd like. She was also very helpful in finding an alternative route for me to reach my next destination safely (the road through Medford was shut down due to the fire). She has a thorough knowledge of the area and a lot of stories to tell, and I had a lot of fun chatting with her! I work for a large hotel chain so I know good customer service when I see it, and these people are top notch! I would definitely love to come and stay here again sometime!
