Not very helpful customer service. Looking for help with home audio design not high ballpark quotes to get me off the phone. Odd to not offer help to design a system when people have cash in hand. I will spend my money elsewhere.

Every place I review starts at 3 stars and can rise and fall based on my experience. And I rarely write 1 star reviews, but here we are. I was a little put off by Electronic Essentials 129 estimate fee (- half star for that), but I was assured it would apply towards the project if I decided to move forward. Art, the man who came out to do the estimate was nice enough. But it seemed like he was talking himself out of the simple project the entire time (20 or so minutes) he was here, with comments he made and the general impatient vibe I was getting (- half star for that). But he gave his verbal impression and estimate, and said that his secretary would call with a firm estimate and scheduling options. The secretary never called back (- one star). I'm a busy guy (job, wife, dog, kids, etc.) so I'm not in the habit of keeping track of the people I've paid for a service, but in this case, it seems like I should have. I had another installer come for a free estimate, that took five minutes. They asked pointed, intelligent questions, and even offered services I hadn't thought about, that after thinking were a great addition to the project. So, I went with them. Polos Electronics if you're wondering. They were fast, competent, pleasant to deal with (both in person and over the phone), didn't charge 129 for an estimate, and came in well under the verbal estimate I got from EE. Edit: EE didn't have to return their estimate fee, but they did. Which is surprising in today's environment. Based on what Polos said about them (EE being their top competitor), and their reply, it's nice to see that customer service means something. I'm sure my experience was an off day or something.
