My fiancée Tamara suffered a traumatic brain injury last Christmas eve. She is still trying to recover and has memory and other cognitive issues. She sometimes gets depressed because she thinks that she should be fully recovered by now. Her psychologist suggested painting as a way to build self confidence and faith in her chances of improvement. I contacted Maya, explained the situation and she didn't hesitate in offering to try and help. That phone call is one of the best decisions that I've made since the injury. Tamara really enjoys her sessions with Maya. She has made some really nice paintings and her mood has improved as well. Maya is more than just an artist and a art teacher. In my opinion, she is the kind of person that we should all strive to be!

This was one of the funnest afternoon's I've had in a long time!! Maya is a great teacher, she creates a super positive, unintimidating environment for learning this great art medium! I didn't know much about what I was getting into, but I enjoyed it so much I'm going again next Week! I would highly recommend for anyone to go and try out Hawaii Fluid Art anytime!!!

Maya’s studio is fantastic and she is so much fun to work with! I took a 7-year-old and a 10-year-old with me and there was something for each of us to create that fit our size and ability. Maya is patient and passionate about helping her students create their own masterpiece and I’ll definitely be going back!
