I have been very pleased with Expressions in West Bloomfield since I began lessons in January. My teacher Kate Autry has been amazing. She is patient, kind, understanding and most helpful as I pursue my retirement goal of learning to play the piano. She is willing to teach at whatever pace and format works for best for me. I was nervous playing during lessons, but Kate has made me very comfortable and more relaxed at each lesson. She has been great offering ways to practice pieces that have been challenging for me. Expressions paired me with Kate based on my initial contact with them and I could not be more happy.

My 8 year old daughter really enjoys her piano lessons with her teacher Ms. Kate A. She’s a very patient, professional and knowledgeable teacher. My daughter had her first recital within 4 months of her lessons with her. Ms. Kate is very encouraging and works very well with her little students keeping the class fun . My daughter looks forward to her piano lessons every week. Excellent experience with the teacher and the academy.

My 11 year old daughter really enjoys working with her voice teacher, Erika. She likes that she gives constructive criticism that is helpful and actionable. We especially appreciate the work Erika has done creating video projects for her students to participate in during the lockdown. I’ve always found all of the teachers and staff at Expressions to be friendly, easy to work with, and excited to see my daughter grow as a musician. I’m really pleased with the progress she has made at Expressions.

During COVID we were given the option for Zoom lessons. In this the staff has been very helpful in communicating meeting ID's, passwords, and other related needs to the classes. The Zoom lessons have been really fun and convenient giving the times. I would 10/10 recommend Expressions for zoom or in-person lessons at West Bloomfield.

Hello! As an adult student for 2 years at Expressions, my experience has taught me more than how to play the drums, but most importantly has brought more joy, passion and fun in my life. I never felt like an outsider and always felt welcomed at every class. The staff has always been kind, scheduling is accommodating and flexible. The Zoom classes during COVID were excellent also! Shoutouts to my instructors (Evan L-Novi and David Warnkea-W. Bloomfield) for being extremely encouraging and great teachers for my growth as a drummer. I encourage more adult students to enroll. :)
