Youth Music Project is a nonprofit and their hearts are 100% in the right place. I love that they offer low/no-cost lessons for underserved community members. They offer our kids lessons in any instrument and, given the current pandemic situation, they've made it easy to do the lessons virtually. I'm looking forward to getting my kids in the concert performances to boost their confidence!

My kids have been doing music here for over a year, My son even attended a week of summer camp with no problems that have been told to me. Until today the assistant director called me and told me that my son couldn't attend next week and could possibly be kicked out for lifting up his shirt and touching his Tummy, I asked the person who was with my son and she said all he was doing is touching his tummy. My son is in the process of being diagnosed with Autism and they are Judging him on his first out burst at this place. All he was doing is paying outside the door of another lesson witch normally doesn't happen and lifting his shirt. I'm waiting on the director to call me back and will update if anything changes but I feel as though they are discriminating against my son. Ok so this is a edit for a few days later. The director called me and said they looked at the camera's and what they tried to say my son was doing isn't 100% true, While he was lifting up his shirt he wasn't doing it in a bad way. He apologized to me and said my son is more then welcome back. I'm still a little upset at the teacher for lying and causing such a huge issue. I also think this place needs to review everything before they make a phone call like that. So I will give it a 4 star now instead of a 2 star.

Our young children have very much enjoyed their music experience here. I am so thankful for the social skills they have acquired here.

Great for beginners, not so great for advanced. Youth music project seems more like a place to kick start your learning, then you should head for another place to get better if you've already started.
