Great home awesome customer service fast maintenance. Me and my decided to move from off post to on post housing for the first time to live on post. Me and me family have awesome experience with Fort Jackson family home specially as a drill sergeant save a lot of time driving. Keep in mind that you live in humility area so cleaning is must.

These houses are new and they are great for our young Soldiers. There are still a few of the older houses on post which need to be updated.

Upon receiving orders for this place I called for an application and to ask the waiting period. I was told 30 days was more than enough time and was offered a 4 bedroom home. After the application was submitted 2 months ago they bumped us to a 4 bedroom (which is perfectly fine). A month before we’re supposed to arrive we were informed that we were getting placed on the waiting list for a 3 bedroom (again totally acceptable). After not hearing back from the housing office for quite some time I called to check our place on the waiting list as we are due to arrive in 2 weeks, we were informed that housing wasn’t available and the wait was 60-90 days and “you can always stay in a hotel. I have a very large dog and a 2 year old, not an option. We were offered a prorated home in which I was informed had black mold issues. The staff is not only unprofessional but extremely rude and unorganized with a serious lack of communication. If I could give less than one star I would as I have been put in a difficult situation trying to find a house off post last minute. 10/10 wouldn’t recommend and am extremely disappointed in this entire ordeal.

I would give zero stars if I could. This is honestly the worst army housing we have been to. They backdated paperwork saying they told us about lead paint but we weren’t aware until living there for a few months. They completely forgot about our move-in appt and were over 20 minutes late to our final inspection. Which is so frustrating when you literally moving from South Carolina to Washington with two little kids and a cat. They never returned emails and calls when trying to get housing when we were coming here. The maintenance men are so kind but we had three major leaks. Water heater, bath tub and the washer drain pipe backed up twice. The second time was never taken care of. The plumber told my husband he spoke to me when he did not.

Housing is responsible and quick to fix issues. Housing is well kept and surrounds the schools for elementary and primary age children. Trainees are separated from permanent party and the commissary is located at the entrance of family housing. Older housing does have its benefits the reimburse you part of BAH and utilities
