Its a beautiful place for camping with kids. Everything is really well maintained and the were clean. NOTE: You will have to carry your own soap with you. The sunset and sunrise are just divine. You can never have a more peaceful wakeup call then the chirping of birds.

On my way to Whitney State Park from Meridian I ran into a little rain, by the time I was crossing the dam it had already cleared up and a rainbow appeared over Loafers Bend in the distance. I really hadn't planned on going down in there but thought I could get a good picture of the rainbow (which I failed at doing) so I went ahead and took the left into Loafers Bend and followed the signs that said Marina. Once there I thought I may as well take some pictures of the Marina too. Now I didnt travel either the East or West side of the park but I can say that the Marina part was nice and to my surprise, had a much needed restroom.

We enjoyed this Park and the Marina. It was a beautful day to explore the area.

It was pretty and it looked like it had potential but I say wait till spring and warmer weather to go here and fish.

it was an amazingly beautiful park and the water was perfect! My son caught fish after fish from the shore and my little kids delighted in kayaking. We loved the fact that it was 106 degrees when we were there with a 114 degree heat index and we were never really hot because the wind blew constantly. We were there as evacuees from hurricane Laura and unable to return home, the wait for power being 4 to 6 weeks out. Ths camp hosts were so kind! The knew us by name at the 2nd day and were genuinely concerned about our well being. We were thankful for the facility and truly blessed to have met the hosts.
