A smaller store with excellent customer service. I am a new guitar player and didn't understand about the wide variety of guitars that are made. Spencer spent over half an hour explaining about different types of guitars, their advantages, disadvantages, etc. to help me narrow down my search criteria. Matt is a phenomenal guitar teacher, at least for an eclectic student such as myself. He is teaching me how to play the guitar, yes, but also about music in general and about how the instruments work together. He teaches how to use the guitar to make the music more interesting rather than just playing chords over and over. Overall, I've been very happy with the customer service and teaching quality at Out on a String.

I'll start by saying that I never take to the time to write a review unless it's either terribly poor or amazingly great. Fortunately this is the latter because my experience with Larry was great. I was looking to pick up some Elixir strings for my Seagull S6 so I called the store looking for the best price, but accidentally called before they opened. Larry still answered! He gave me an estimate on the price since he was in the back room and guessed they were 15. I said "done deal" and decided to swing by on my lunch break. When I showed up we discovered that they actually cost 18.99. He still gave them to me for 15! Moral of the story, any guy like that is worthy of my business and will continue to get it. Even if I can save a few bucks buying online I'll be going back to this place for any future guitar needs.
Great, intimate store. Having bought a ton of equipment at big box Guitar center, it was so nice to get great personal customer service. Very knowledgable and helpful. I have purchased one guitar and have had two tuned up here. Love personal service.
