Today was my first time visiting them. I called before I came so that I could double check to make sure Google time frame was correct as far as when it opens and because online I saw lunch food but wanted breakfast. The man that answered the phone seemed agitated that I called. I asked if they sold breakfast and what time they opened. It wasn't a very welcoming call at all. I hung up and proceeded to the restaurant. Curb side wasn't all that appealing but it seemed homey enough and clean once I walked in. There was no crowd and only 2 people inside. There was a small breakfast bar and the food LOOKED good. I got rice, scrambled eggs and conecuh sausage with toast. The rice were cooked well, and were hard to the bite, the eggs also were cooked well but had no flavor or seasoning, the conecuh didn't require any seasoning so it was good and so was the toast. The servers didn't smile and didn't really make eye contact. I was really excited about supporting a black owned business, but this time I was slightly let down. I think more restaurants need to go back to customer service and realize that the way the restaurants are presented and how you treat your customers dictate them returning to support you. Everyday you open your doors you should treat your customers as thought it was day 1.

Mayv1, 2019 Ordered by phone a to go plate with hamburger steak rice and gravy , black eyed peas & cream corn.. cornbread & added sweet potato pie with lg ice sweet tea. VERY VERY nice employees! It's my bad for getting there close to closing. My main problem was too high of expectations that my hamburger steak would be a hand made patty. It looked like what you get when you buy a frozen box of beef patties. Taste was bland unlike if it'd been made fresh and seasoned in house. Also I was expecting brown gravy on it & rice. Not sure what this gravy was but it .... \in my opinion\ didn't work with hamburger steak. Cream corn, black eyed Peas & corn bread were very good. Now I added at last minute when I arrived a pc of Sweet potato pie & Sweet tea ... both were perfect. Its been yrs since I've eaten here. As a hospice RN I would stop by when over that way seeing pts. Its been doing something right to have opened in 1983 & still busy at closing on Wednesday night in 2019. Again I couldn't have asked for nicer people to help me. I'll be back & will make sure it's a different menu so I can try different things... but I hope they still have a slice of sweet Potato pie... yummy!

Stopped in while in town visiting The Legacy Museum. Between the two of us we had fried chicken, collards, potato salad, mac&cheese, mashed potatoes with gravy and cornbread. Mercy! That was some good eating! Friendly service. Everything tasted like somebody’s wonderful grandmama cooked it and put her foot in the pot. *No Dine-In During COVID*
