I've shot at Sly Horse multiple times in the past 5 years and have never had a bad experience. Since the beginning, the owner has assisted me by setting up lights and backgrounds, and has given me great tips many times before the shoot began. Studio A is immense, with more room than you could wish for and Studio B is perfect for a portrait session. Rates are fair and times are easily booked on their website, including a Paypal payment option. I would recommend this studio to any serious photographer, amateur or professional, for their next shoot.

I have used this studio repeatedly over the past few years. It comes fully equipped with lights and backdrops as well as a cyc wall. Its location a block from the Twinbrook Metro station makes it very convenient for models that don't drive. The large space fully accommodates shoots with small groups as well as room to manage large amounts of props and wardrobe that I often bring.

I just recently started using Slyhorse, and I am pretty happy with it. They have very reasonable rates and the staff has been helpful. Studio A is very spacious with plenty of height, and is equipped with a good sized changing room. There is also some nice props available to use. The alien bees monolights are of course easy to use and there is a good selection of softboxes. There are a few equipment issues, like modeling lights not working, but overall I have had a good experience.

I booked one of their studios weeks in advance through their online calendar, which was very convenient, or so I thought. The day of the shoot, I show up with my client, and the door is locked! After half an hour of calling, emailing, and texting, we finally managed to get ourselves in. The troubles did not end when we got inside. Their equipment is in poor shape (luckily I brought some of my own,) their backdrops stained, and the studio a mess. I had to spend half an hour of the studio time I paid for rearranging the room so I had space to work. After the shoot, in my rush to leave because we had started late and I had somewhere else to be, I left a piece of equipment there (my fault, obviously.) 3 phone calls, 3 emails, and a couple messages on social media later, and I have yet to get a hold of them to get the equipment back. At this point I'm sure that it's gone, but I wish I could at least get that confirmation from them. Overall, it was an extremely frustrating experience, and could have left a bad impression of me on my client, which is unforgivable.
