My son is very shy. I was heavily, HEAVILY disappointed to discover how he was being treated. At first, he didn’t want to tell me until I coaxed the truth out of him .... my son was sat APART from the rest of the class and singled out by the instructor because he couldn’t “get it as fast as the other kids.” As an instructor you are supposed to be patient. Kind. My CHILD was in TEARS because of the people I ENTRUSTED him to. He’s always been very shy, very anxious and I was hoping this would get him out of his shell. The instructor repeatedly made jokes singling him out to the rest of the class, and as my son told me “he had me in timeout the whole time mommy.” TIMEOUT???!! Please don’t bring your children here. I wish I could leave no stars.

I highly recommend Whitecrest Martial Arts in Fort Mill. Master Stock is a patient and experienced instructor. I enrolled my son a bit insistently and am happy to see that he now loves to go. The student-to-instructor ratio is typically low. There is plenty of room for additional students. Master Stock and the father-son Connor duo are all knowledgeable and encouraging. They utilize group instructions, one-on-one advisements as needed during class times, and they regularly conduct sparring sessions, which are my son's favorite sessions. Students are encouraged to bring their sparring gear to every class. The instructors are very clear that the skills learned are for life enrichment and personal defense if ever needed. I feel like my son is gaining the kind of confidence and self control needed to avoid ever being bullied or being a bully. If you are looking for a karate class for a child or adult, consider Whitecrest Martial Arts!

Great location, that offers a variety of class sessions to learn karate. Multiple instructors to guide you through the training. Training is structured to start with foundation and build on each method. Students of every degree are welcomed to train together. You will learn gain a deeper understanding of karate from the instructors who have more than 20 years of training for themselves. Highly recommend coming in to learn.

Best place to train hands down. Ive been training with Whitecrest for going on 6 years now. I couldn't ask for a better place or instructor. Master Stock is also great with kids, my 5 y/o son goes and loves it.
