I don't mind verifying my account information, it is my money so I wouldn't want somebody to get through and get information or make changes. The problem I have is that if you can get through to somebody on the phone without being hung up on, if they transfer you, you will get hung up on. Georgia's own has messed up my account at least 3 times in the last 5 years, causing me extra work to use my account. I've been credited for the mistakes but it took a lot of work, including going to a branch ect. They've messed up my address a couple of times, including again this year. We moved / updated the address online, our pin/zip code reflected the change for a couple of months, the recent credit card account changes caused another problem. I cannot access my credit account online, I cannot use my account because I have no card, they cancelled my account essentially before I received a card, the address was magically wrong in their system again I still can't use the account 10 days later, I haven't received a call back from my support email tickets. It's obnoxious. Will be looking for a new bank. Update: most of the time there aren't issues but for whatever reason their front end and back end applications do not work together properly. Socially in my case with address changes even when I've given as much information as possible. My issue was resolved but I had to go through social media to get any sort of response.

I like this credit union, and the employees here are always pleasant, hands down, they make me feel like family!! However, the ATM is ALWAYS DOWN or inoperative as in certain functions. I live 5mins from this branch. Today, I really needed to deposit money for emergency purposes, and the atm DID NOT ACCEPT CASH DEPOSITS TODAY, so I had to drive to Marietta’s ATM which is 30-40mins away! BIG INCONVENIENCE—-PUUUULEAAAAAAAZZEE (please) GET IT TOGETHER!!

Terrible customer service. I've been with this bank since before I knew what a bank was and growing up, I enjoyed my experience, but as I've gotten older this bank has been in a serious downward spiral. I recently switched to PNC bank and even when I came IN the building to close my accounts, they never once asked me why I wanted to close all three of my accounts. They simply looked and sounded annoyed while they quickly handed me my money and brushed me away. NOT WORTH IT.

The customer service at GOCU seems to be degrading rapidly. They ask 15 questions just to verify the account and then fail to answer very simple questions. I literally just got off the phone with someone from the call center who I had to raise my voice to for her to answer a very simple question. By the way, before she was able to attend to me, she kept me on hold for literally like 5 minutes and then came back and said she had more verification questions. Yesterday, I called about the same account and the person who answered asked me all these questions and then couldn't respond. When I asked pointed questions and started detailing who I had spoken to before immediately wanted to refer me to someone in another department. I was like, so if I hadn't given you basic information you should have access to in your notes, what would you have done? She kept mumbling about I'm sorry I don't really have much access. Beyond frustrating. Online banking information is extremely thin at best, and for those of us who are tech-savvy, the limitations of the online banking system means that we have to call to get certain account details. I've wasted hours on simple questions. Literally, one day I tracked how long I was on the phone, between holds and transfers, and it was 4 hours. Georgia's Own, please reconsider your entire strategy. I don't see myself keeping my account beyond a year. You used to be very good.
