Food is really good, no doubt there. But I found a piece of lobster shell in the lobster roll. This is a safety hazard and could send someone into the hospital if not spotted. Please be careful in the future. I will definitely come back for their food, hopefully shell-free next time.

This place is famous for its New England style lobster roll, but I tried the Ipswich clams instead (cause it's a clam shack!). Very good fried clams, I was warned they had real flavor and they were right, deep and meaty. Must like clams to try. ;). Also these were the best fries I've had in KW. Nice homemade tartar sauce too. Lovely wait staff.
My wife said, "I have a taste for a lobster roll tonight." So I searched Google for nearby lobster restaurants. Most of the restaurants I found didn't have lobster roll on the menu and for those that did, the prices were pretty high. DJ's Clam Shack's prices were within our budget. There seemed to be confusion on the line when we first arrived. No one knew if we should stand in line and order first or go to the back for seating. I found out that you're suppose to order first, then take a seat in the back. The Shack will either call your number on receipt or bring the food to your table. I'd suggest you bring cash (just in case) because I seen there card processing machine have issues. Other than that, we 'd the food. I'd recommend friend's and family.
Sorry guys! Hit the wrong star. Clam chowder was awesome...thick yet creamy Conch fritters were good. Lobster roll ...great...SHRIMP ROLL IS AMAZING! one of the best meals i had in the keys. I would have one every day of my vacation. It was THAT good! Shout out to Brian at the Gardens for recommending.
The Conch Fritters are delicious. I can't wait to be back in Key West to try out other items on the menu. Everything looks and smells great; and it's all made fresh to order.
The best lobster roll I've ever had. This is a Key West must have. Also the clams were so fresh and tasty. Overall great prices for a quick bite and beers.

Heaven on toasted bread! I stop every time I visit KW for the best lobster roll ever. The best part is taking a guest and seeing their face after the first bite. Don't be discouraged by the line, the place is a well oiled machine with a nice funky feel.
