An incredible place to snorkel when in Big Island. Great for beginners, with easy access to good reefs and colorful schools of fish. Watch out for the spiky sea urchins at the access point, aptly named "Two Step". Park your car right after you make the turn from the main road, it's only a 5 min walk.

One of my favorite Beach in big island. You can see turtles and so many fishes just sitting on the rocks. Greatest place for snorkeling. There were so many dolphins and great swimmers were swimming with them. There is a small bay area without waves. If you have kids go there and leave them to enjoy the water and you can take a good sun bath without worry.

Great place, easy, close parking. Just try to get there early, by noon it gets pretty busy Lots of fish around too

Omg what a beautiful place!! Our second favorite snorkeling spot of our trip. We loved the deep trenches and seeing the loads of fish. Didn't get to see any of the famous dolphins, but I hear if you come earlier in the morning you have a better chance. We arrived at 11ish, so already lots of people and no dolphins but still totally enjoyed our time! Water access is over a little cliff so keep in mind getting in and out of the water may be difficult for some.

Amazing place to snorkel. Great reefs and tons to see. Turtles often frequent here, I’ve seen one each time I have been here. Everyone from beginner to advanced snorkelers will be happy here; both shallow and deep spots. Don’t forget your water shoes, you will need them to walk around and get into the water (no sand beach here), only rocks and an old lava flow (“the beach”).

I didn't get to snorkel but my friends all said it was fabulous! Good area but don't expect a "sandy" beach. Bonus, we got to see a hefty fish get dragged in.

We came twice. We saw dolphins from the shore both times. The first time we came around noon. We didn’t snorkel because the waves were very strong and the local people suggested us to not get into the water if we’re not professional ocean swimmers. There are all rocks around the shore so we could get hurt easily. We came back 8am the next day. The waves were much calmer and the water was very clean. We were able to saw groups of beautiful and colorful fishes!!

Great maybe the best spot to snorkel on the Kona side of the Big Island. We swam with turtles and a large pod of dolphins
