Stay here. The staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and quiet. The whole hostel is clean and comfortable. It's perfectly located with a coffee shop, restaurants and bars all within a 1 to 10 minute walk, depending on where you want to go. I would recommend this to anyone. There isn't one thing i can think of that would make this place better.

This hostel is a good value. It's not the nicest hostel I've stayed in but it's also one of the best rates I've seen. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The building is an older building and is part of a church. They ask you to help out with a chore and charge extra if you check in late (after 11 p.m.). However, it was clean and located in a short driving distance to everything I wanted to do and see. They also have free parking.
Feels like home when you walk in the door. Wonderfully welcoming, friendly atmosphere; the staff have local (community) knowledge of the places to go for an afternoon or evening out; very quiet and relaxing surroundings. Have already recommended this place to others.
I’m a resident assistant at Hostel Memphis. Living and working here has been a great experience. The hostel provides a clean, safe, and affordable lodging option in the middle of one of the coolest neighborhoods in Memphis. Additionally, the hostel is part of the operations of a service and community oriented church, First Congregational Church of Memphis. All of the profits go to support the church’s ministries and partnerships like a food pantry, donation center for immigrants, and an immigration law firm. The hostel manager volunteers all her time to run the hostel. She’s worked tirelessly to establish and maintain a clean and safe environment. Many guests note that the hostel is one of the cleanest and quietest they’ve experienced. She’s implemented a number of beneficial changes to the hostel including removing older policies like doing chores and having an additional fee for checking-in late. If you look at the older photos versus the more recent photos you’ll notice major improvements to the organization and cleanliness of the hostel. We’re constantly looking for ways to improve and simplify our guests experience so that they can focus on exploring and enjoying all the great resources Memphis has to offer.

Very clean and excellent location! Free breakfast. The staff were very kind and helpful. Plenty of parking. Good restaurants and coffee shops close by. We definitely enjoyed our stay!
The staff was all very nice. There is free parking right in the back. I enjoyed the neighborhood, there are restaurants and bars within walking distance. The hostel was very clean and provided nice sheets and towels. Hostel also has air conditioning which made it comfortable in August. Will definitely stay again during my next trip to Memphis.
Spent 5 nights at the hostel. All of the staff were friendly and engaging. It's a very low key vibe with a mix of older and younger visitors. Keep in mind it's not close to Beale St or many of the major attractions so you'll want to use ride share or rent a car as Memphis public transportation isn't the greatest. Definitely would be willing to stay there again.
