Elmer Hall is God’s gift to all people who sojourn on The Appalachian Trail, AND to people who like to converse over 5 Star vegetarian food without the interruption of cell phones & TV. Although my stays @ Sunnybank were many years ago when I maintained a section of The Trail, I am sure Elmer’s personality in the art of converse and culinary skill is still persistent.
No place like it anywhere. Excellent vegetarian food. Historic home.
Fantastic funky inn. Caters to trail hikers and small gatherings. Outstanding vegetarian and vegan food, great place to mingle with an eclectic group of people.
Great place if you know what to expect. Not a Holiday Inn, that’s why I liked it. Delicious food, courteous staff.
It was a large historical house. It was a little harder to find because our GPS didn't work in that town. The room was large and seemed clean. They provided breakfast at an extra cost (tasted good). The guys that run the property seem nice enough. My only real complaint is that he quoted us one price over the phone (about 67 for 2 of us 1 bed per night) and it was more that when we checked out (92)......also being cash only is a little inconvenient.
Lovely old house. Plenty of room. Great host. Very calm and relaxing. Clean and comfortable.
