We stayed in one of the carriage house rooms. It wasn’t well maintained or very clean. We got the feeling this place was struggling financially. The place is beautiful though. It just might be too much for it to be able generate a profit. Get Anthony Melchiorri to turn it around.

This is a beautiful property and we had a great night there. We had rented a queen suite on the third floor which was huge and very well laid out. Particularly liked the desk niche tucked away from the bed so you can separate work from sleep... and the working fireplace surrounded by inviting armchairs. Also loved the robes, always a nice luxurious touch... And the huge four post antique bed...! Felt like we were back in the late 19th century... The room was extremely quiet. Staff was friendly and efficient. The only reason I am not giving it a 5 is that the shutters on our bedroom window, which was rather narrow for the size of the room (but I guess that's the way the house was originally designed), could not be opened because of heavy curtains blocking them. The result is we couldn't look out of our window at all. It was ok since we only spent one night there but next time we would probably book a room on a lower floor with a larger window you can actually look out of. The grounds don't look as interesting as some other properties on Natchez we have stayed at, but the room was more comfortable and luxurious so that's a trade-off... We had dinner at the Castle restaurant on site, as well as breakfast which was included with our room. Super friendly staff, good food, nice "old castle" atmosphere. We would come back there next time we go through Natchez.

The Dunleith House is remarkable! It has the most exquisite bed, a clawfoot tub which I thoroughly enjoyed more than any bath ever, rocked on the porch in the evening light, did a Southern Belle photo shoot, took a swim in the pool, had a quick lower story tour of the house as I stayed upstairs I had access to see it prior as well, and had a remarkable dinner and breakfast at the Castle Restaurant along with Willamette Valley Vineyards wine! This house is beautiful with its verandah including amazing columns which wrap around the structure. It has been featured in some movies I have seen too! Gorgeous!! The grounds were nice with some out buildings including some artifacts and a lovely Southern Magnolia tree. I was looking forward to staying here again as it was truly a one of a kind experience that I want to enjoy again! My son and I stayed here in June of 2018. We also toured Longwood and a couple other houses while we were there in town.

Beautiful house. Informative tour, but a little rushed.

This was a awesome place to stay at. It was beautiful!!! I stayed in the milk house which was awesome and authentic. Breakfast in The Castle restaurant is a must. Compliments to the chef!!!! Those potatoes are to die for and the biscuits melt in your mouth. The staff is super friendly and attentive. It's a beautiful setting. Highly recommend.

Excellent place to spend a night and learn about a plantation house. There is a pub and restaurant on the property. The bartender at the pub was friendly. A supper menu was available in the pub. Breakfast at the restaurant was very good. They also do tours of the plantation house. I recommend taking the tour.

We had lunch at The Castle Restaurant...gave the tour guide our receipt and got the tour of Dunleith free. While we waited for the tour to start we rocked in rocking chairs on the huge porch. Terry, our tour guide, was friendly, informative and very easy to listen to. He also welcomed questions so I asked "Was Dunleith the name of the first owner?" He explained that "The second owner liked books by Sir Walter Scott...Dunleith was an imaginary place in Scotland in one of Sir Walter Scott's books...that name appealed to the owner who used it to name this Dunleith". Fun information. Beautiful grounds, awesome buildings and furnishing with Zuber wallpaper from France to see....unique.

We really enjoyed our time here. It was for an anniversary and we stayed in the dairy barn. Great little room next to the Castle, which had a fantastic breakfast. We also toured the home and learned about the rich history tied into Dunleith.
