A very cozy outdoor setting. My friends ordered steak and muscles, accompanied by an Apolo cocktail, and they were all satisfied. My burger and fries were too salty though. I only had half of my burger. But the main reason for my rating is the waiter who helped our table. Although as usual, I am grateful for restaurants and how they have made it still possible to enjoy eating out, this waiter was in a rush all the time. We were four, and I assume when we say we wanna order desserts, you should wait until you hear four different orders from all of us. He heard two, and literally was running and the third person loudly said he wants something too! He did not ask whether we want an appetizer, and again, he was so much in a hurry that forgot I wanted an appetizer and I forgot to order it. I’m not one with high expectations, but I felt offended by this person.

Such great French ambiance. The meal by chef Steven and his staff couldn't be any better. Desserts and adult refreshments are stupendous. Great camaraderie by all patrons with an outstanding staff that knows how to present and describe the food being served.

This was a pretty cool experience they had a lot going on with flavors of the food and presentation with interesting drinks to choose from. Our adult family had a great time sampling different craft cocktails and appetizers. With both indoor/outdoor seating and our really good server, we are certain to return here again. Try the tomato appetizer dish for sure. I think it may have been just a special, definitely ask about it.

Great outdoor seating on a nice quiet block. Cozy bar/dining room inside with a lovely crowd and friendly staff. The co-owner, Chloe and the manager, Patrick greated us personally as of we were old friends and went above and beyond to create a truly wonderful dining experience. Yes, the food is very good and the cocktails on par, but what distinguishes a great restaurant like this from the rest of the Philly gastropubs is their personal touch and commitment to service excellence. It's one of the few places that seem to genuinely care about their customers and will do everything to make sure that you leave happy, full, and a little tipsy. I highly recommend the Good King... Enjoy!

I had my first date with my partner at The Good King 6 years ago and I have made fond memories here ever since. The first time I tried escargot was at The Good King (yes, it was amazing). The beer and cocktail selection is excellent and I like the cozy atmosphere. A true gem and a special place in Philadelphia.
