Dave and Ray, were awesome! They helped us find the right boards and suits for our family. We got 2 body boards and 2 surf boards! This made our trip from Colorado so much fun!

I flew in to San Diego, it being my first time in a new city I wanted to take it easy, as I was preparing for a greater hiking trip. The location(literally like having a beach in your backyard it's a 30 second stroll to the beach) couldn't be beat and the price was outstanding. The staff was super friendly and knowledgeable about the area and pointed me in the direction of great food and pubs. The common area, bathrooms, and bunks we're meticulously clean. Definitely the cleanest hostel I've ever stayed in. The vibe was chill and respectful, orderly without being constricting at all. I had a situation upon my departure and the hostel manager personally went to take a package I left to the post office. I couldn't be more grateful. If your looking for the best hostel in San Diego. Come stay here, I'm sure they'll surprise you. They offer alot of great services too the guests as well like they'll even wash your laundry for a crazy price so you can spend more time focusing on what matters most. Thanks again to the staff I'll definitely come visit again. Next time I'll try to bring some friends!
This is the best hostel I have ever stayed in. Super clean. Awesome Staff. Amazing location. There are plenty of restaurants and bars next door and you can walk to the beach to watch the sunrise and sunset. Really good vibes here. And you can tell the owners care about their customers. So happy I found this gem!
Amazing experience, the staff make you feel like part of the hostel family the second you arrive. I would recommend California Dreams to anyone looking for an affordable place to stay where you’ll meet some lifelong friends in the process. Will definitely be back!
I arrived at the airport 29 hours ahead so my accommodations which I had previously arranged were not available. I had forgotten that early on I had found a flight cheaper from Seattle, WA to San Diego CA. Well I had forgotten to change my mode of transportation from a bus or train ride also. Let my tell you when the temperature started a fallen a bit chilly my memory kicked on quick. I remembered that Hostels offer some really great amenities and some world-class people too. I Googled hostels near airport and what proved to be a rare treasure was 25 minutes away. Oh' before I forget, I forgot to mention I am differently abled in that I use a wheelchair and a cane and also when I arrived to CD Hostel Dave had one dorm setting bed left, it was a top bunk a thought came to my mind, here is my new challenge, it took some maneuvering to hoist myself up and get in but I did it. I defeated the challenge and it was worth it. The next morning I told Dave, man I slept like rock in a very comfortable mattress. Thanks California Dreams Hostel Dave & team. 10 of 10 Recommend.
Staying here was My California Dream Come True. Awesome Location and Amenities and Rentals Available for All sorts of Adventures. I can't say enough about the Incredible Caring Staff, Always On Top of things And steady keeping things Super Clean and Warm and Inviting. One of my Favorite things is Each Rack has Curtains for privacy. This Spot is The Bomb and Know why they are rated as one of the Best Hostels. I Agree.
My first experience staying at a hostel....LIFE CHANGING! I had come from LA an the Amtrak train (awesome views the coast, by the way ) to check out San Diego. I figured I’d stay a couple of days and decide if Pacific Beach was where I wanted to live. I ended up staying two full weeks at California Dreams Hostel. They made me feel at home. They clean the facility constantly and have the most AWESOME staff!! A plus for me was that there was quiet time after 11 PM in order to respect those who are deciding to sleep. I admire that, especially since there were definitely nights I wanted to just stay in and sleep. Seriously, INCREDIBLE experience. Oh AND I have now decided to move to Pacific Beach and I move in my new place this week. Because of California Dreams, I now have a community of compassionate individuals that I am looking forward to coming back to.
Elsa is a adorable person and a top notch host. She without a doubt made me feel at home for the time I spent in KC. It changed into a awesome revel in.
