No compassion to a military member who was on orders out of State and with little to no communication. Policies were changed while they were gone which caused a late fee. Refused to forgive it even though they had copies of orders and had a meticulous history of prompt payments. Had to call three times to be told they didn’t care. Highly recommend military people steer clear of this business. You may have agreed to put your life on the line for them but they only care about your money.

As a renter in a college town you expect to move into an apartment with minor damages and inconveniences due to previous young renters. That was not the case with University West. When we moved into the apartment we were greeted with a smoke tainted, filthy unit. We specifically chose a floorplan that had a washer and dryer so we were extremely dissatisfied to find out the unit we were assigned didn't have one. The carpets in our apartment are in dire need of being replaced. There are floor tacks exposed in most door jambs and you can see the foundation of the building in our living room due to the carpet not being attached at all. It is extremely dangerous that we step on tacks everyday. We have contacted maintenance multiple times about the carpets but have heard nothing. There are so many bugs in the apartment and we have even seen them fall from the light fixtures out of the ceiling. I find it absolutely repulsive that the company found this apartment suitable for new renters to move into. My roommates and I feel cheated that we have to pay rent on this unit. We planned to live here for the next two years but now cannot wait to leave. I would never recommend University West to anyone.

The staff is slow to respond to emails (if they respond at all). The rent is affordable for a good amount of space though, and the amenities are pretty nice as well.The units are certainly a little aged and there are some issues with the floors doors and windows, but as I understand it, replacements are currently very slow due to COVID related supply issues. Additionally, they are currently also renovating units and I still live in an unrenovated one.

The apartments are decent but the staff is impossible to work with. They will place others in your apartments with little notice and when you try to work with them for options they just state you signed the lease too bad. Everytime we have tried to reach a solution with them they refuse.
