I used to send my Birkenstocks off to have the cork and soles repaired, but a family member recommended American Boot & Shoe Repair. I brought my shoes in, and the guys were up front about how much work would be needed and when I could expect to pick my shoes up. Shoes were ready just when they said they would be, and look beautiful. Price was comparable to where I used to send off to, but I love to keep it local. I would recommend to anyone needing any kind of shoe/leather repair. I’m very happy.

Was really hoping this would be a good local place to bring my sheepskin boots to be well cleaned. It's not. I'm sure based on their other reviews that they do great work in other areas, but not with my boots. After a winter of wear I wanted to have a button re-sewn and have them cleaned up before I put them away for a season. They had the boots for almost a week. When I picked them up, they appeared faded and stiff and a few stains were still on the boots. (The button appears to have been seen we'll though) I asked why they were discolored and they said it was from putting the black back into them? I also mentioned the stains and was told they were from something sugary, which okay, but there is really no cleaner that can get them out? The price was 20.00 which was decent so I'm fine with that, but next time I'll just pay 50 and get the special sheepskin cleaner and do it myself from now on. Their hours are also barely there (3 hours a day 4 days a week) and they weren't the friendliest. So overall not completely satisfied with my service, but they must be doing something right for a particular set of people to give such great reviews.
I brought a pair of dance heels in to this shop because my heels had worn through. The associate was polite and explained the process well, I dropped off my shoes and had them ready when expected. The repair was MUCH less than the cost of buying new shoes, plus I didn't have to go through the process of breaking in a new pair. The new heels were actually higher quality than the original heels. I will definitely use this shop again.
