I’ve only been here for a week today and we had a furnished apartment. Walked in and there was no furniture. We didn’t get a bed until the day after move in. We just got our couch yesterday (6 days after move in) and we are still waiting on dressers, desks, night stands, dining room table, chairs, and coffee table. We were told 3 different days that we were going to get our furniture and never got it on those days. When you call about it they never know when we will get the furniture. The place was very dirty so I doubt that their “professional cleaners” even cleaned. When you fill out maintenance reports they are supposed to reach out 48-72 hours later according to the front desk but it has been over 72 hours and they still don’t know when maintenance will be out here. According to the lease that we signed on both ends, residents and management, we were supposed to be supplied with furniture from move in date until move out. Never experienced management breaking their end of the lease before. I feel like they think since we are students they can just walk all over us as long as they get money from us. Based off my first week here, I wouldn’t recommend and I definitely won’t stay here next year. Spend a little more money for an actual clean apartment and management that has everything under control.

I co-signed for my child’s first year there. Only three months into the first year they began pressuring them to resign a second lease or the price would go up. This was a full 7 months before the lease was up. My kid felt pressured to sign. I didn’t not re-cosign however they now have me listed as the co-signer for the second lease. I tried to explain I never signed and they didn’t care. Now there is a pandemic and my kid and I are on the hook for an apartment in another city however she has no classes on campus due to COVID. They are also unwilling to follow the North Carolina law (Isbey v. Crews, 284 S.E.2d 534 (N.C. Ct. App. 1981)) that says your landlord must make reasonable efforts to re-rent your unit—no matter what your reason for leaving—rather than charge you for the total remaining rent due under the lease. Update: After posting this review, Arcadia did re-rent my kids room. I hate I had to go to such lengths, but I am appreciative. I updated my rating because my kid really liked living there.

The only reason I’d give this place 5 stars is because of Kalyn Haas who works there! She’s the best worker there, always helpful and happy! No one knows more than her and everyone who lives there knows how bad the leasing office can be! If it wasn’t for her everyone would probably move out!!
