My son was at this facility a little over a month ago on the autism floor. Since being home he has been doing 90% better, I would say 100% better but some of his actions are his own personality and cannot be helped. He enjoyed the activities and projects they had him doing as therapy, they helped him with showers and making sure he was clean as well as keeping good communication with us at home. The nurses and techs helped immensely in the time he was inpatient and my wife and I are very grateful.

I was here back in 2018 and although I faced some challenges, I do not believe the staff was responsible. I liked the food. We had activities and groups and I appreciate the time to use the phone. Almost had a couple of fights but staff intervened. I liked the staff I met. The psychiatrist put me on a regimen I still follow today, so I am glad someone took the care to keep me from ending back in the hospital.

This place is truly amazing it has its ups and downs like everywhere.. but the staff truly cares. Michael intake really did his best to get me in multiple times and he did his all to make sure I had a place when I left. The nurses were great even though I wasn't the nicest cuz I wasn't in my right mind when I came in. But they worked with me. And truly cared I'm like a lot of places. When I had a little relapse and came back in when I got back from Arizona. I tested positive for Corona so I had to go to the hospital. Michael tried his best to get me to go in an ambulance but I refused but he truly cared and tried his best and there was a nurse I forgot her name she had red hair a little older. But amazing lady she gave me twenty bucks to get to the hospital and make sure I ate. Outta all the places I've been to this place was the best to help me get mentally right and off the drugs. Dr Rudy.cuz I can't say his last name is an amazing guy and will help you and do anything in his power to get you clean and Dr S..truly cares about your well-being not like a lot of psychiatrist that just pump you full of drug she really wants to help you get better and amazing lady yes herber oak has rules but they're made to help you in the future. So out of all the all the rehabs I've been to doesn't matter how nice this place it truly amazing how good a staff they have.

My son suffers from Severe Autism, Sensory Processing disorder and is non verbal. He was admitted into Harbor Oaks childrens inpatient unit. He stayed for twelve days. I have nothing but nice things to say about this facility and the nurses who took care of my son. They took the time to speak with me whenever I called, which was usually 3 times a day every day. They told me I could call and check on him as often as I liked. When my husband and I went to pick him up we met a couple of the nurses in person, and I could tell the way my son interacted with them that he trusted them and felt comfortable with them and that means alot to us because we don't trust anybody outside of our family to care for our son. Some of the other reviews on here are odd to me because they don't match up AT ALL to the service that my son received there. I'm sorry I cannot remember the names of all the nurses, but in particular Heather and Kelly were very kind and we thank everyone for taking such good care of our son in such a difficult time for him and us.

This so called hospital should be shut down. Many cases have been reported yet nothing has changed. Patients are not cared for and other patients are abusive. My family member was transferred from Henry Ford and left in a room alone for hours. No treatment or medication was given until the evening until he repeatedly asked and was told he would have to wait until he sees the doctor the next day. I worked in several psych hospitals and know there are standing orders for new admissions. My family member was seen the next morning and discharged. No call to the family to complete an assessment as to what has been going on to bring him in by the police. There have been many reports of violence and yet the state continues to allow them to operate. I would strongly advise others to not transfer or admit anyone to this facility if you are seeking help. I will be filing a complaint with the state and hope others will do the same.
