My husband and I were looking for an ALF for my mother. Mark Monaghan, the director of Community Relations at The Sterling at Aventura, gave us a tour of the facility. I was concerned about my mother fitting in as she only speaks Spanish. Mark arranged for me to meet five Hispanic residents that lived on the same floor where my mother would be. I got to spend time with the residents which put my fears to rest. Mark took us to my mother’s future room. The facility was lovely, very clean, and smelled wonderful.

It's often the little things that matter most. That said, if the big things are not properly handled, then the little things are just that, little. Mark Monaghan is simply outstanding. He addresses the big things head on, with passion, dedication and a big heart, and cares enough to make the little things perfect as well. We had a whirlwind experience getting everything ready for a loved one to move down, from finding possible places, to finding the right place, to making sure that everything was perfect, and Mark and his wonderful team at The Sterling Aventura make it all so much easier. Location is important, bright, clean, friendly rooms/apartments are too, but at the end of the day, without the right people, none of it really matters. The Sterling Aventura is a great place - and I'm convinced that Mark and others like him are the reason why. Thank you, Mark - you certainly make life a bit better for those who are lucky enough to know you.

My Mom has been at the Sterling for over 6 years and I could not have found any better ALF for her! She’s 93 and has Advanced Dementia but the care that she receives is tremendous!! Her caregivers on her floor constantly are showing her a love and kindness that is so beautiful. She has been so lucky that there has been very little turn over on her floor so the continuity of her seeing the same caring people is so important. During Covid-19 I’ve been so concerned but again her caregivers call me and do FaceTime a couple of times a week which has been great. Yesterday for the first time I was able to go and visit her for only the 2nd time in 6 months! The Sterling fixed up a lovely room for visitation with chairs socially distanced but having a really nice feel to the room. For anyone looking for an ALF The Sterling is a place to give a serious look at!! I recommend it fully!! Steven Schatzberg

Mark the Director was instrumental in our decision in selection Sterling. In our search no other location took as much time, care and consideration as Mark. Even with the transitional process he was patient and guided us through. On day one the staff was caring and took time out of their day to introduce themselves. Angie is a sweetheart in offering her assistance. Butch has broad knowledge and helps in a lot of areas. Daniel is the program coordinator and I appreciated how he took the time to ask about my moms’ interest to better coordinate in terms of activities and Brian who was a great help during our move-in. Shayna, Janette and Mary took time from their schedule to welcome and visit and see how she was settling in. Everyone was willing to assist with our most miner requests. I appreciate the entire staff for giving me and my family peace of mind in their professionalism.
