I can’t wait till I move out of this place. I never experienced any of this at Identity Miami. I had the best experience there. Maintenance takes forever to respond, They charge you for things they claim they were not going to, Cable and WiFi is horrible(please don’t set yourself up coming here) and not even 6 months later they want to tell you to renew your lease with them, which definitely is not going to happen. I’m tired of being taken advantage of at this place.

My biggest regret is that I have to pay rent here every month or they will ruin my credit. First, my apartment was FILTHY when I moved in. and my window was and still is BROKEN (water enters my room when it rains). The property manager tried to blame US for not putting in the maintenance request correctly, when one of the employees was the one who put it in. Maintenance enters our apartment without us opening the door despite our numerous requests to not enter because of my roommate's service animal. Next, the garage and hallways into the residential areas flood when it rains. My roommate even slipped and fell and it has still not been fixed. The doors into the building from the garage are also never locked so anyone can enter my residential hallway with NO KEY required. Finally, it takes forever to get any customer service, and they are not helpful at all. When I spoke to the Property manager he was dismissive of my concerns, then he was unable to see me later because he was \too busy in and out of phone calls\. I waited almost a month for a response over the summer as well. Update, my window was repaired but they entered our Unit without notice against my wishes for the 3rd time. Photo 1 is animal droppings on my dresser on move in day. Photo 2 is human waste on my toilet ON THE DAY I MOVED IN (its also a new building so my unit has not been occupied before) meaning they didn't clean properly after construction. Video is water in the hall about an inch deep after less than 15 mins of rain. I have more photos and videos of flooding in the parking garage that we have to pay an extra 75 per month to use on top of rent. Don't be fooled by the advertising, you get office quality furniture in a tiny room for about 1000 per month. No paint on the walls only primer, and unfinished ceilings in most of the units, in a building with some SERIOUS water issues.

The main issue I have with living at The One is their unloyalty to those who have been loyal to them. Back when The One FIRST started taking leases, I showed up at 8 AM on signing day, waited in line, and signed a lease. A few months later, they started offering 500 gift cards to those who signed a lease. However, they said I could not get it because I didn't sign \within the time frame of the special.\ Fast forward to now, I renewed my lease with The One for this upcoming year RIGHT AWAY because they threatened to lease it out to an outside person if it was not renewed within a certain amount of time. Not having looked into any other options yet, out of fear for being homeless I quickly renewed so my room wouldn't be given to another person. Today, I was informed of a 250 gift card being given to those who renewed. Once again, I was told I cannot get the gift card, because I essentially signed too early ( ot within the time frame of the special\). They give nothing to those who are loyal and sign with them early. It's very overpriced (that's a whole other issue) but I'm most bugged that they offer specials to everyone except those who showed loyalty and signed right away. The lesson at the end of the day is to wait to sign until the last minute. They'll give you who-knows-how-many gift cards.

DO NOT MOVE HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so unhappy with my housing choice. They promise gift cards and all these specials and they do not follow through with any of the promises. It's all a scam to get you to sign a lease and once you do all of the promises are completely revoked and you are told that you have to have it in writing which they never send out, it's not even a thing. Not to mention, my move in was delayed and they moved me into the wrong unit the first day so I had to go through the hassle of moving into a different one. Once I moved into the new unit though, it was dirty and the dishwasher was broken, the stove was broken, the windows were scratched and there was construction dust everywhere. If I were you I wouldn't even bother.

I had to give two starts due to the poor running of this apartment community, but I give five stars to the maintenance tech Brian. Brian actually listens and understands resident concerns and get his job done effectively and gracefully. I put in a maintenance request for my broken microwave and after a week no one showed up. I spoke to an employee at the front desk and she said she took action to make sure this concern was addressed, but no one showed up. I had to put in another maintenance request and luckily for me it was Brian, because I trust he will get the job done and if it were anyone else I’d probably still be waiting to get my microwave fixed. The quality of customer service by the front desk staff is very poor, the empathy and attention to resident concerns is poor, and we we pay too much for the lack to attention to maintenance issues. The price for the amount of space is horrible. Honestly Identity is a better off campus apartment for FIU students, with way more benefits for residents. A special thanks to Brian, he deserves a promotion.
